Facts about UNN 2017/2018 school fees: see breakdown

In line with the updates we are giving freshers for admission purposes, today UNN Gate chose to make this post on UNN FEES.
It is known that UNN stands as one of the very expensive federal universities in Nigeria. This is in contrast to lesser expensive schools like UNILAG, UNIBEN and other.
But, frankly Speaking, are they not the same federal universities? Why can't we have similar fees? ...Question for some other day.


Like I have pointed earlier UNN fees are kind of expensive but let's look into some of the key breakdown that are obtainable with the fee.


I will be using a 100level Engineering school fees receipt to site the examples.

1. Internet access fees, N8000 for returning and N12000 for freshmen.
2. Development Charges  takes a wholesome N20,000 (highest item on the breakdown)
3. we will see some other itemized few like ICT, Handbook (First Year only) and more.

However, most students have had speculations and are grumbling towards some fees they term as double extortion, and some other fees unproductive.
Fees like departmental and faculty dues. This is because these fees are being paid twice, I.e after payment in the bank you still go to your department to pay again. But this is not the case according to a Senior staff who cleared the air as regards this issue.
